"Hey, Ive been looking for you!" were the words spoken boldly by a sweet elderly lady.
This testimony begins a few years back. It was late spring early summer when my oldest son and I had gone out to do a little shopping. We had gone to a furniture store to look at bedroom suites. We were leaving the store when we heard a lady asking one of the clerks if they sold microwaves. The clerk told the woman no but suggested another store to her. The elder lady said that she had been there, but that they wanted to charge $50 to deliver it or $10 just to cart it out to her car!
Well, Adam (our son) spoke up to the lady telling her that we would follow her over to the store and carry it out for her. Which we did. To our surprise, she and her husband asked us if we would put it into our car, follow them home and take it into their apartment for them. I was in awe! With all the ugly that goes on, these people were putting their trust in someone that they did not know but God was in all of this. We did follow them home. In the car I told Adam that they were going to offer him money for doing all of this. They did ($10). Adam declined the money. They were a friendly couple, showing us around the apartment at the things they had collected over the years and such. They asked us what church we belonged to. We told them that we were just servants of God helping out someone in need. Soon after, we prayed with them and then left.
Several weeks later God told me to go to a Salvation Army Center not to far from us. I did. I got to see the couple that we had helped previously. This was only the beginning of several more meetings with them.
Last March or so, I saw them again. I had to put my face right into her face for as she said, "Im going blind. The doctors tell me that they may be able to help with surgery. I have no other choice because I dont want to go live with my family in Kentucky. They drink to much!"
With Holy Ghost boldness I said, "I dont accept that." "Will you allow me to pray for you?"
She told me that she would allow me to pray for her. We did right there in the store her, her husband, another woman that wanted to pray with us and myself. I told God then that I did not want to accept blindness or surgery. I asked him to mend her eyes that surgery would no longer be an option. I asked all these things through the blood and in the mighty name of Jesus. We then all went our own ways.
About two weeks ago our middle son and I were back at that same Salvation Army. We were there for no particular reason, just looking around. The elderly couple came across my mind. I had not been here for awhile and I was wondering how they were doing.
Today; March 27, 2000, I took my husband to work. I was going to be unloading a storage room that we had. At first I thought of going to do that as soon as I had dropped him off, but changed my mind. I didn't want to start what was going to be a hectic day without a good dose of prayer. So, I came home to pray. While praying, the LORD told me two things: 1) our middle son was going to have a dream to share He did. 2) Go to that Salvation Army I did. As I was pulling into the driveway I saw the elderly couple pulling in too. I got out and was going to go over to their van. The LORD said not to, He said not to say a word. So I went on into the store. I was looking around when from behind I heard, "HEY! Ive been looking for you! Where have you been?"
I turned to see the elderly woman. She began this glorious story! She told me that after our prayer meeting last year she went to the doctor and told him that she wasnt going to need surgery. She said that she told him that she knew someone that was praying for her sight. The doctor appeased her and tried to set a surgery date. She told him that she wanted him to check her eyes again. He did. In the words of my elderly friend," That was almost a year ago. I still wear the same prescription AND I DIDNT HAVE ANY SURGERY!"
