Simply stated, salvation is deliverance from disobedience and the punishments of sin. Yeshua
{yesh-oo'-aw} can be found 77 times in the Old Testament/Tanakh and means something saved, deliverance. Two other words are Tshuah
{tesh-oo-aw'} which means rescue and yeshai
{yay'-shah}; meaning liberty, deliverance, prosperity. In the New Testament, the Greek word used for salvation is soteria
{so-tay-ree'-ah} which means rescue or safety. Salvation is personal and no one can make that decision for you.
Romans 1:16-18: For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith. For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;
Romans 10:8-13: But what does it say? "The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart" (that is, the word of faith which we preach): that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the Scripture says, "Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame." For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, for the same Lord over all is rich to all who call upon Him. For "whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved."
2 Corinthians 7:9-10: Now I rejoice, not that ye were made sorry, but that ye sorrowed to repentance: for ye were made sorry after a godly manner, that ye might receive damage by us in nothing. For godly sorrow works repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world works death.
We would like to suggest that you read all of Ephesians chapter one.
Titus 2:11-12: For the grace of God that brings salvation hath appeared to all men, Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;
Hebrews 5:5-9: So also Christ glorified not himself to be made an high priest; but he that said unto him, Thou art my Son to day have I begotten thee. As he saith also in another place, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec. Who in the days of his flesh, when he had offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto him that was able to save him from death, and was heard in that he feared; Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered; And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him;
